Seated Statue of PediamenopetIn this statue, the official Pediamenopet is seated on a cube-shaped seat with a projecting base. His hands rest on his knees. His right palm is closed in a fist and placed horizontally, while the left is open and spread over his thigh. He is wearing a wig and a short kilt. Pediamenopet is shown with a rounded face and his gaze is turned upwards. The body is well modeled with broad shoulders and muscular arms and legs. The cube-shaped seat is inscribed with a hieroglyphic text.Made out of alabaster. Third Intermediate Period, 25th Dynasty, ca. 744-656 BC. Now in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. JE 36578 -- source link
