As we celebrate and move forward another year into the 21st century, let’s take a look at one of the most distinguished American artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Winslow Homer was a well regarded fine artist, working prominently in landscape and portraiture, but also worked extensively as a commercial illustrator and printmaker. Here we see one of his prints made for Harper Bazaar’s New Year’s Day cover in 1870.
