peashooter85:Pack it up and go —- The Burguss 12 gauge shotgunManufactured around the turn of the century, this shotgun has two special features. First the gun was cocked and reload by pulling the trigger guard, operating the action. Second, the gun broke down and could be folded in two for easy carry and storage. The Burguss was popular with guards and police because it could be easily carried in its broken down form. It became the shotgun of choice for Wells Fargo agents. In 1895 a man stormed into Theodore Roosevelts office, who was then commisioner of the NY Police Department. The man fired five shots at Teddy, fortunatly all of them blanks. The intruder was Charlie Damon, a salesman for the Burguss Firearms Company. He had pulled the stunt in order to demonstrate the advantages of the shotguns foldup capabilities to Teddy Roosevelt and secure a sale from the NYPD. -- source link
