So this, uh, may be the most terrifying thing I’ve ever made. It came from the realisation that the cerebral arteries looked kind of like an alien. “Maybe you’ll remember it better if you actually make it into an alien!” And so… this was born. ACA: anterior cerebral arteryMCA: middle cerebral arteryICA: internal carotid arteryACom: anterior communicating arteryPCom: posterior communicating arteryPCA: posterior cerebral arterySCA: superior cerebellar arteryBA: basillar arteryPA: pontine arteriesAICA: anterior inferior cerebellar arteryPICA: posterior inferior cerebellar arteryVA: vertebral arteryASA: anterior spinal artery (i.e. the penis) The highlighted yellow bits (they don’t show up massively clearly) indicate what parts of the brain are supplied by which artery. The “walking on his antenna” thing is because the area of the brain that controls the motor function of the legs is supplied by the ACA, while the motor function of the rest of the body is supplied by the MCA. It’s stupid, but if you just remember Henry, the cerebral [+ rest of brain, it’s a bad name] blood supply alien, walking on his antenna, you’ll never forget it! -- source link
