(i’ll also put this in a seperate post incase some don’t read it)(btw the flowers in the back are forget-me-nots which means ‘true love memories’ and pink carnations which mean ‘i’ll never forget you)ok socarol has found the skrulls a new home and now she’s returning home to earth to stay with maria and monicasince the movie was set in the 90s and gays werent allowed in the usaf until 2010 (imma assume that maria is still in the army) and gay marriage wasn’t legalised in usa til 2015they dont get married until 2015but until thenoksomaria and carol talk about everythingfriends, fam, issues, missing each other on that trip that carol just went onbut most importantly, maria and monica help carol relearn her past(i mean she has already but like even more)and they were defs in a relationship before thisso thats what carol ends up learning from photos and monicaand shes internally like why didn’t maria tell me thisbut externally shes like ohand she starts to slowly fall in love againand like maria never fell out of loveshe’s always loved carol no matter whatbut she didn’t want to push it cause she couldn’t just expect carol to be up for reviving a relationship she barely rememberedand there’s a shit ton of piningso much slowburnand eventually monica is like jesus christ and she sets them upthen from there “auntie carol” becomes “mom” and theyre datingcarol ends up “proposing” to maria a few years later they have a small fake wedding in their field (this part was ripped off another fic i’ll try to find it) and laugh and are cute about itand then gays are allowed in and gay marriage is legalised they get married straight awayand it’s rumoured that fury cried at their wedding but no one knows for surebut then the snap happenscarol is on a mission at the timeshe begins to watch the people around her turn to dustand she receives a call from furyshe realises whats happening and rushes homeshe comes home to find the walls covered in dustshe falls on her knees and fucking wailscause now she knows how maria feltbut she knows she can save them so she gets her ass back upshe joins the avengers and sets out to fucking murder the dumb bitch that took away her family -- source link
