Ann Moor attracted attention in the early 19th century based on her claims of years-long fasting. This work, from two years into her fast, attempts to analyze the evidence and provide an explanation based in scientific fact. The author concludes that Moor’s survival was based on ingesting tiny qualities of vaporous “animal oil” found in the air. Moor was finally exposed as a fraud in 1813 and died shortly thereafter.Call Number: RC552 .A5 A38 1810Catalog record: https://bit.ly/32Pf1Kf -- source link
