PETA does not approve — The Taylor Fur GetterThese were manufactured from the late 1800’s up to the 1920’s, before most commercial hunting and trapping was outlawed. Basically you placed bait on the hook. When the critter or animal took the bait and pulled on the hook it would depress a firing pin igniting a .22 lr cartridge and shooting the animal in the skull. The gun could also be detached from its monopod and used as a regular rifle. While today they are not legal to trap with, they are sought after as antique collectibles.Value — $1,000 - $2,000 -- source link
