SOMETHING NEW IS COLORED. All 300 pages, pals. YES.Above is the process each page went through, from script to finished colors. The coloring took slightly less than five weeks, at a fairly grueling pace, and I only managed it thanks to my flatter, Luke Healy. He is a peach, and he saved my bacon. There are a few tweaks to make on the book, and the cover to finish up, but after a year of research and notes, followed by eight and a half months of furious writing and drawing and coloring, this collection of stories and thoughts about the wedding industry, matrimonial traditions, family, love and my own rainy, fun wedding to John– is all scrolled out. I’m very grateful to my family and friends and live-in-houseboy husband, for putting up with me battering away at this deadline. I’m very thankful to my editor, Calista, and my friends at First Second for being so encouraging and enthusiastic. I’m extremely grateful to my agent, Holly, for helping me through this process and cheering me on. And I’m very thankful to you guys, for sticking with me through what was basically a year of very few shareable comics, email radio silence, commissions out of commission, and the occasional progress post. I hope you guys dig this book, and now I’m gonna dance around my house and then take a nap. And then I’m gonna get to work on the next one. -- source link
