sageruto:tuggywuggy:tommy-sombrero:chinad011:tuggywuggy:“The Nintendo Wii U is a failure! No one is buying it! Nintendo will lose the console war!! The wii u doesn’t have any good games! Nintendo will become nintenDodo unless they stop appealing to casuals! ”i like that psvita is still relevant some how.I like how an embarrassing amount of video game enthusiasts do not realize why Nintendo does so well and appeals to “casual gamers.” I think one of the philosophies Nintendo holds is to make video games more family-friendly and to strive towards a world where it’s not uncommon to have a Nintendo system in a household. So, instead of only focusing on “hardcore” gamers, they open up their demographics to people not as familiar with vidya. The wider the audience you appeal to, the more sales you will gain. The more sales, the more revenue.Case in point, the picture above. Perhaps, in the standards that Nintendo is used to when selling its consoles, it is a marketing failure. Compared to its competitors… well, a simple Google search will say plenty.“Nintendo continues to pursue its basic strategy of “Gaming Population Expansion” by offering compelling products that anyone can enjoy, regardless of age, gender or gaming experience”http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2013/131030e.pdfseriously my mom is pushing 60 years old and she has been spending her entire life saying she cant play video games, never joining in with us, always insisting she couldnt do it. we got super mario u with our wii u and we let her have the gamepad to give us the blocks to jump on while we played the characters, and she was ecstatic about finally being able to join in with us and being included in the game. xbone would never fucking do that. so screw anyone who bitches baout nintendo being too “casual” maybe i fucking like it that way -- source link
