So before I even watched Arcane, I was a bit in the know of a few Champions…and I knew Veigar was one of my favorites, because of how much I love Orko’s design techniques. Now that I’ve gotten into the LoL lore thanks to Arcane more, I like Veigar even more…and not just for his looks. Turns out, him and Orko are pretty similar, and not just in design!Think of it: two powerful mages with face concealing and flowing clothing that belong to a race of small pointy-eared creatures with a penchant for magic in their entire species. They’re separated from their species, thrown into isolation into a world entirely different from the one that they were born into, and are forced to adapt to the magic of this world. Because of this, they’re a weird mix of overconfident in their abilities and underconfident at the same time. The key difference into what splits them apart personality wise is where they ended up when they were taken from their own world: Orko was taken into the family that unknown to most of them housed the greatest champion of its land. Veigar was kidnapped and stripped of his sanity by a despicable warlord, driving him into madness and a desire to be seen as evil. -- source link
