AFTERLOSTStreaming on Funimation.Hooooooooooooooooooooooo boooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyy. Not even having Sugita cast as the lead male can save this dumpster fire. Afterlost is about a city that disappeared, the one girl who survived, and a delivery man who has to take her to the Lost City to meet her father. (who may or may not be dead.)Also, it seems people can summon residents of the lost city to fight for them?? (pictured above)Let’s get the technical aspect out of the way first - this show is not animated. It tries towards the end, but most of the show is people talking at each other with as minimal movement as possible. Those two that just sit and type at their computers and blab back and forth make for such PAINFULLY BORING visuals that I hate these characters immediately. It’s not their fault, but they just stand as symbols of how bad this show is to me now. That leads us to the next point: the show is pretty boring overall. It’s worse than that though. When it’s not being an absolute drag, it’s being so absurd it feels like a parody that forgot it was a parody. Am I supposed to be laughing when female MC’s agent ghost dude is being shot at and then we see female MC is being riddled by the same pain. Probably not, but it was so poorly executed it felt like a beat in a comedy.Started out the show with Solty Rei vibes, starting getting Dimension W vibes instead, realized that it doesn’t even have the style to look good like Dimension W does.Seriously, just don’t watch this. Will I watch Episode 2? Hmmm I wonder! -- source link
