ardenrosegarden:silvaris:Polina by Olga Barantseva@skeleton-richardIt only occurred to Anne halfway through the walk with Richard to ask where they were going. “Just into the forest,” Richard said. “Far enough from– from all the noise.” He didn’t sound very convincing.“You are sure we will not be lost?” Anne asked. She felt safe with Richard, but getting lost was another thing. “I’m sure,” Richard replied, taking her hand and squeezing it. “I know this forest well. It is mine, after all.” Anne looked down at their hands, then up at his face and she couldn’t help but smile.“Then we will not have trouble,” she agreed, squeezing his hand in return. After a few more minutes of picking their way through the woods, they reached a clearing. Anne almost gasped at how pretty it was– trees surrounding a patch of grass, late afternoon sunlight filtering through branches, the pleasant sound of birds above. “Thought you’d like it!” Richard said, sounding truly happy. Then his voice dropped, like he was embarrassed. “I– I have something I want to show you.” She gave him a bemused look. “I just, um, need to take off– er, can you turn around for a moment?” He stammered. “Richard… what are you saying?”“I need to be naked to do this!” He said quickly.“We are going to see each other naked soon,” Anne said, her voice strangely level. They had been married for several months now, but hadn’t gotten farther than kissing and holding hands. “I know, but… it’s kind of weird besides me being naked,” Richard said, blushing. “I promise, it’s nothing like that.” “I did not think you would hurt me, Richard,” Anne said, hoping he didn’t think she was scared of him. “I know…” he took her hands. “It’s something very important. Something you need to know about me.”Anne nodded. “I will cover my eyes then.” “Thank you,” Richard said softly. He smiled and kissed her forehead, then released her hands and stepped backAnne closed her eyes and covered her face. There was the rustling of cloth as he undressed, then no sound other than the forest around them. After a minute, Richard hadn’t told her she could look, and she felt her curiosity about to take hold of– no. She promised him she wouldn’t look. Then there were footsteps in the grass and something brushed against her arm. It felt soft through the sleeve of her dress, like the touch of another person. Then that thing… nudged her. She took a chance and looked down. She gasped, backed away instinctively, and nearly tripped. Standing in front of her was a yearling deer with a pure white coat. “Richard?” She whispered, now unsure if she were actually dreaming or not.The deer rested his head on her arm, looking up at her with eyes she knew were Richard’s. -- source link
