shinobara:spitblaze:doomy:is this a jokeThis is real and here’s the linkAs someone who does research at the nexus of Public Health, Law, and trans identities, I really can not stress enough how big of a deal this is. “Evidence-based” and “Science-based” are the words used to separate high-quality evidence from professional opinions (which can come from any quack with a license, not just experts). We’re just now starting to get to a point where major professional organizations are slowly acknowledging that trans identities are not mental illnesses. We’re just now starting to get to a point where trans care is becoming “evidence based,” because under Obama, several agencies recognized that we needed more data on the long-term effects of medical transition. PLEASE support the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), which announced immediately following this that they would be doing everything in their power to fight this. Even if you don’t care at all about trans issues, the inability to use “evidence-based” in CDC documents affects literally everyone in America. Please spread awareness of this on every platform that you can, call every elected representative in your state, write to the CDC and urge them to resist this. Anything we can do. Everything we can do. This is fascism. The replacement for “science-based” is so ridiculously wordy and PC only the federal government could come up with this. -- source link
