lpbestiary:The Yule Lads are fey figures from Icelandic folklore. Resembling typical dwarves or gnomes, they were once seen as malicious and even dangerous pranksters, but in modern times, have become viewed with more fondness, with some seeing them as analogous to Father Christmas. The thirteen Yule Lads will visit Icelandic homes on the run-up to Christmas, with one arriving each night to leave gifts for good children and rotten potatoes for bad children. Each Yule Lad has a different quirk and a name related to that quirk, including Gluggagægir (Window-Peeper), Þvörusleikir (Spoon-Licker) and Bjúgnakrækir (Sausage-Swiper).Image source.Monster master list.Suggest a spook. -- source link
