soyrwoo:andivictoria:justrideme:I HATE THIS SHIT. i’m agnostic, but when someone says something like this to me i just smile and nod, or say “yup”. you don’t have to rub your religion or lack thereof in everyone’s face when they’re being nice to you. like “oh you’re mom’s sick, i’ll pray for her” - “no don’t bother i’m agnostic”. or you sneeze “god bless you” - “i’m an atheist”. like stop being rude. She wasn’t being rude….. if people are allowed to openly be religious other people should be allowed to be openly not religious, if someone offers me pineapple I say “no thanks I’m allergic” not nod and let my throat swell up to be politeThis post cuts out a lot of the interview; her response is actually to Wolf Blitzer asking, “Do you thank the Lord for that split-second decision?” (Her house was destroyed by a tornado, but her family is alive thanks to some quick thinking on her part)And after the line in the second gif (which was said a little nervously, though you can’t tell in the gif), she says, “We are here and you know, I don’t blame anybody for thanking the lord.”I wouldn’t quite compare it to a food allergy, but I wouldn’t compare it to anything in the first comment either; she wasn’t being rude at all. -- source link
