Some 100,000 people are estimated to have died in this one camp alone.”(AP)lol what? atrocity? holocaust? bergen-belsen was proven to not be the german’s fault, it was a work camp not extermination; the british even confirmed it…I’m so sorry for you. Nice ad hominem brah. http://franklytiredofyou.tumblr.com/post/119568840314/i-believe-youre-talking-about-the-bergen-belsenI love how you post lies bro, very entertaining.Who would have thought a Nationalist would deny that Bergen-Belsen was a concentration camp. Good job sourcing yourself on your denial bullshit, you fucking creep.NAZI PUNKS FUCK OFF.God I hate nazisHe’s right though, Bergen-Belsen was not an extermination campIf you’re going to contradict a Nazi on Holocaust facts please make sure you’re not objectively wrong first or it just encourages themThere actually are a lot of commonly told horror stories about the Holocaust that are 100% fabricated or originally taken from fiction as well as large numbers of fake photographs - the Allied and Soviet psyops divisions spread whatever they could to discredit the Nazis during and after the war and their fakes still circulate on the Internet, I’ve even seen them in textbooks while I was substitute-teaching. Nazis seize on these incongruities and use them to claim the whole thing is Jewish lies.I’ve actually seen this specific exchange happen many times online - someone posts the shocking photos of piles of bodies from Bergen-Belsen saying ‘look at all these people the Nazis murdered, how do people deny the Holocaust happened,’ someone edgelord Internet Nazi like franklytiredofyou quite accurately points out these specific people died of typhus and weren’t killed intentionally, then they respond by calling the Nazi a denier and screaming at him that of course Bergen-Belsen was an extermination camp and all those people were gassed to death, and then the Nazi walks away confirmed in his belief that his opponents are brainwashed by Der Juden and Hitler did nothing wrong.Your anger and hatred just bolsters their faith in their cause - if you really want to oppose them then demolish their arguments with facts and logicBut the post literally never says that. It calls it “Bergen-Belsen concentration camp”. No one in the entire chain made any reference to it being an extermination camp except for the Nazi himself, and he is doing to to muddy the waters. He is making several false claims. First that Bergen-Belson was not an atrocity or part of the Holocaust - “atrocity? holocaust?”. Second that the deaths “proven to not be the german’s fault”. And third, that “it was a work camp not extermination; the british even confirmed it…” The third one, of course, no one was disputing in the first place. He is just using that as a red herring to try and prove his earlier points. The fact that it was a work camp, not an extermination camp, actually doesn’t absolve the Germans of guilt for the deaths there, nor does it somehow make Bergen-Belsen not part of the Holocaust or an atrocity! The “not Germany’s fault” is no doubt a reference to the fraction of total deaths, about 10,000, that died of typhus after liberation (ignoring the tens of thousands that occurred prior, both in BB and Stalag XI), which of course ignores the fact that they caught the disease due to the appalling conditions, lack of medical treatment, and rampant mistreatment by the camp guards, all of which occurred under the German’s watch. And as to the bizarre contention that it wasn’t part of the Holocaust, this demonstrates either unawareness, or more probably intentional ignorance, of the wider Nazi policy regarding work and concentration camps, which were integrated into the larger aim of extermination, intending to eke out every last ounce of strength from the prisoners and literally work them to death, and often were staging area from which prisoners would later be transported east to an extermination camp! (Although I would note that work at Bergen-Belsen was mostly done at satellite camps, not the main camp, which was stuffed to the gills to easily over five times its intended capacity, which returns us to the earlier point about conditions). Anyways, the point is that you are wrong to say that the internet Nazis are accurate when saying the typhus casualties “weren’t killed intentionally,” because those deaths were part of a willful and intentional creation of conditions that the Nazis knew would result in death. Death in the east was generally by gas and bullets. As you move west death was more often by disease, overwork, malnutrition, or a combination thereof, but that doesn’t really make the latter deaths less culpable on the part of the Germans than those in the east.As for your last bit, in my experience, they can rationalize even the most overwhelming evidence away, so throwing facts and evidence at them is really just a waste of time, unless you find banging your head against a wall to be an enjoyable experience. You could get a time machine, take them to Treblinka at the height of operations, and they would still try and find some way to not believe it. Engaging them is what they want. I used to reply with the “Nazis fuck off” and stuff like that, but I agree that anger doesn’t really do anything either, so my current approach has been to treat them like the deeply disturbed individuals they are and try and point them to the resources they need. -- source link
