Belgian Comblain Rifle,Made for the Belgian Army from 1870 to around the 1890’s, the Comblain was a single shot breechloading rifle that used an 11mm blackpowder cartridge. The breech mechanism was worked by pushing forward on the trigger guard, and its large breechblock pivots and downward. The Comblain was popular with the Belgian military, but also became popular with Brazil, Chile, and Greece. Many were exported, and eventually Brazil and Chile licensed their own Comblain pattern rifles. A limited number were made in the United States as well. -- source link
