libutron:The pygmy sundew: Drosera gibsonii Although a bit disproportionate to the size of the plant, this is the beautiful flower of the carnivorous Drosera gibsonii (Caryophyllales - Droseraceae), a pygmy species just described in 2007 from the Stirling Range National Park, in south-west Western Australia. This tiny Drosera forms a semi-erect rosette whose size is just 1.25cm in diameter. The inflorescence is singular, 3 cm long, covered with minute short-stalked glands, and the flowers are 1.5 mm long with pink to mauve petals.Reference: [1]Photo credit: ©Jardin Botanique Lyon -- source link
