jean-luc-gohard:zombres:jasonsmomoa:Who are you? Someone who loves you. #classics are classics for a reason and it will never cease to astound me #that george lucas managed to craft a romance with such complexity and charm and vigor on the side of both parties - girl and boy #in ways that modern scifi and action blockbusters seem completely incapable #she’s an ice princess with the fire of revolution in her belly and he’s a grumpy reluctant rebel charmed into the fight by camaraderie #it’s not about romance love - that’s incidental - it’s about Love capital L rebel revolution Love #:)))))))))))#seriously how did this come from george lucas?? no but really thoThe answer is that it didn’t. Leigh Bracket and Lawrence Kasdan wrote Empire and Irvin Kirshner directed it, and Kasdan wrote Jedi (Lucas drafted it, but Kasdan did all subsequent drafts IIRC) and Richard Marquand directed. Lucas planned for Luke and Leia to be endgame (and definitely not siblings), Vader not to be Luke’s father, and so on, and he fought those things tooth and nail. We got the OT in spite of George Lucas as much as because of him. The first film was so good because of budget restrictions that made him whittle down the story and Harrison Ford’s improv skills. The other two were good because other people called the shots. The prequels demonstrate what it’s like for George Lucas to have both budget and control. -- source link
