Appalled by persistent acts of violence against women in the city of Bangalore, artist Inder Salim set out to share a message with the region. In his performance We are all Women’s Issues (2003), Salim wore the titular statement painted on the back of his jacket, affirming that gender-based violence must be addressed by all members of society. The artist produced a poster documenting the performance, which is on view in Agitprop! through August 7 and has also been placed on the streets of Brooklyn.Nominated for the 2nd wave by SAHMATPosted by Joanna FiorentinoInder Salim (Indian, born in India-administered Kashmir, 1965) We All Are Women’s Issues, 2003.
