Over the past few months, AgitProp! Has brought history and the contemporary moment together, igniting discussion and action in and out of the Museum. Continue the conversation and meet the activists June 4 for Target First Saturday hosting AgitProp! artists, and other international musicians, artists, and agitators to activate the Brooklyn Museum and mark Pride Month. The soundtrack to your night will be provided by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and DJ Mursi Layne. Speak out by projecting your own message onto the walls of the Museum with The Illuminator van, making a patch, or contributing to a community-drawn print, pulled live by Mobile Print Power and the New York State Youth Leadership Council. Get dancing with StudioREV- in an all-ages CareForce Disco, then check out the CareForce One, an interactive car that activates your cell phone. Hear herstories of social justice by Visual AIDS and Queer Memoir. Want even more storytelling? Come to a talk and book signing by Joe Okonkwo as he speaks about his book, Jazz Moon. Finally, the films Oriented (2016) and Hell or Highwater (2016) bring the LGBTQ* conversation in Tel Aviv and Nigeria to the Museum. Come out and speak up at June Target First Saturday!Posted by Lena Sawyer -- source link
