As our Triple Consciousness series comes to a close this weekend. This final workshop
As our Triple Consciousness series comes to a close this weekend. This final workshop "Beyond Binaries & Boxes“ invites us to gather and strategize about how to keep the conversation going beyond the walls of the Brooklyn Museum. As human beings, our identities are multi-dimensional. Things are more than just black/white, male/female, gay/straight. This weekend will encourage us to take a step back, gather into small groups, and go deeper. Series Curator, Ebony Noelle Golden, shares her final thoughts:Triple Consciousness a participatory series of engagements. I expect that folks come ready to challenge and build. This isn’t a talking heads type of event. Black women and girls are experts in our own lives! This last engagement is a strategy session, one that includes small group work, creative strategy, group presentations, and a case studies of individuals and organizations who are blazing the field in progressive social change for Black girls and women. At my core I’m a cultural worker. I’m excited to facilitate this strategy session and hold space as we collectively put our heads together to build a framework for Black feminism in the time of now and beyond! - Series Curator, Ebony Noelle GoldenUnable to attend “Binaries and Boxes?” Tune in LIVE!Posted by Alicia BoonePhoto: Kwesi Abbensetts (abbensettsstudio) -- source link
