jumpingjacktrash:ferenofnopewood:jumpingjacktrash:longlivefeedback:ao3commentoftheday:There is no one meaning behind hitting that kudos button, but we all think we know what it means. I’ve created a poll to see how people view kudos, and whether those opinions vary between readers and writers. If you have a minute, please click here and answer the two questions. I’ll share any results that I get. This poll does not track email addresses or ask for any personal information. It is set to allow you to see the responses of others.@ao3commentoftheday This is really cool!looks like the most common write-in was “i liked it but can’t think of anything to say / too shy to say anything” and yeah, i’d have clicked that box if it was a box.what i wrote in, in addition to clicking boxes for general likingness, was “note to my future self that yes i did read this, it’s not deja vu” because once i’m in a fandom i’m in it for good and i’ll come back like six years later and find a fic that sounds amazing and then a few pages in i’m like waaaaaitI use it like an applause button, tbh. If I really like a fic, even if I’m one chapter in, I Kudos. I only comment when I have something to say, and use the Kudos button totally independently of whether or not I comment. I wish the survey had asked about that. It seems to me like some people will EITHER comment or Kudos, but don’t do both at once. I’d like to see if that’s true.oh yeah, same, i kudos if i liked it, whether i comment or not. then i comment if i have something specific to say and can words at the moment. which isn’t often, except with people i know from elsewhere. -- source link
