“Once one has been saved by a woman–and I have been saved countless times by countless women–it is startling to learn how abused and misunderstood they remain in our world. It is cultural; it is habitual; hell, it is even Biblical: Women are not to be trusted or allowed to possess any control, any power. This prejudice has poisoned every women I can call a friend, and I have known some women you might think exempt from this hatred, but none are. Virtually everything I write deals with this pestilence of the spirit. As a friend to women, and as a homosexual, which is, to many, simply an unformed and entirely useless woman, I have seen this hatred many times, up close. So I say to you–when you are a friend to women, when you are an advocate for women, when you are the beneficiary of all that women can give, you can begin to repay the gifts by being their witness.
