Korean beauties bathing. Both Shin Yunbok and Kim Hongdo are painters of Korea’s Choson Dynasty (1392–1897). The mid to late Joseon dynasty (where both of these painters are situated) is considered the golden age of Korean painting. It coincides with the collapse of China’s Ming dynasty (1368–1644) and the Manchu (1644–1912) accession in China. At this time China ceased to have pre-eminent influence and Korean art took its own course, and became increasingly distinctive. -- source link
