megarah-moon: Am I the only one who prefers dark and eerie mermaids? Yeah pretty, colorful, and girly mermaids can be fun, but I prefer mermaids with dark eyes the color of the stormy sea. Mermaids with webbing between their fingers and a haunting but beautiful face- a face that could seduce anyone but can kill you with just one look. Mermaids with unworldly skin tones but natural just like any creature from the sea. To me, mermaid does not mean glorified rainbow colored hair and clam bras. They can be sinister and terrifying creatures and they should be feared and admired. “Now, mermaids are not as they are in story books.
