Second attempt at a presentable ballpoint pen doodle. This time a bikini babe listening to music from her headphones in a summer breeze. Must be wireless/bluetooth headphones since they’re not connected to any device physically. ;pThis one’s a bit better, though couple of things still ended up nagging me. Primarily the folds of the wind jacket thing’s sleeves. The direction and placement of the folds on her left arm messes with the perspective and makes the arm look short, and it also makes it seem like the volume and size of the sleeves aren’t a match. Then there’s the thing she’s sitting on. I left too much space between her butt and the thing, so it doesn’t really look like she’s sitting on it. But I guess she could be in the process of sitting down, so it’s not that big of a thing.But aside from those, it turned out pretty neat, I think. Background was an afterthought though. I hardly had much plans for it. First I did the thing she’s sitting on (probably some sort of stone stool or something), and was planning on adding more of those around her. But then I accidentally slightly smudged the paper with my work glove, and had to think of something to mask the smudge (it wouldn’t show up here regardless, since the scanner wouldn’t pick something so faint, but since the original image might go on display…). Added some bubbles for that. Figured the bubbles could be either actual bubbles floating along from outside the view, or a metaphor for how she feels, listening to her music in the summer breeze. Still a bit lacking in content, so went for some grass and scenery stuff I’ve done gazillion times before. Not the most inventive, but better than nothing.The pen also started running dry on ink while working on this, which made the shading process a pain, but I managed somehow.Again, aside from tweaking contrast, this is a direct scan.© HitmanN 2016Ballpoint pen on sketchbook -- source link
