A CURSED HEARTTerry Cottle, an organ donor, died in 1995 after he fired a fatal .22 caliber round into his own head. Upon his death, 57-year-old Sonny Graham received his heart in a transplant. After a successful transplant, Graham made a trip to see and thank Cottle’s wife for the life-saving organ but found himself growing closer and closer to the widow. Over several years she married and divorced many men before finally marrying Graham. But the bliss was not to be as Graham made her a widow once more when he too killed himself. The story was immediately snatched up by conspiracy theorists and internet bloggers who wondered if it was a case of “cellular memory” or that it was possible the heart contained a “suicide gene” that was passed on to its new owner.
