wolves-witches-writers: My travel altar! Since I’m in college and dorming now, this is what I’m using as my altar primarily. I still have all my witchy stuff with me, but other than my crystals (which are all around the room!) that stuff is mostly packed away. This is a mid-size travel altar, about 3" x 4.5". This won’t fit in your pocket or a small purse but it fits in a bag just fine! This could also easily be smaller depending on the size of the contents, but its not quite tin sized. Contents: × white and black (or silver and gold, white and red, etc.) tea or votive candle -goddess/god, moon/sun, etc × selenite wand - for cleansing. I don’t usually use this as a wand tbh but selenite does make fantastic wands! If you have a small wand, I recommend keeping it with your travel altar × quartz point - for balance and energy, but also just good for literally anything so if you can only bring one crystal with you this is the one! × element + spirit representations - for me, these are glass coins from my local ren faire, but more traditionally this might be a shell, a candle, salt, and incense; or a cup, an athame, a pentacle, and a wand. For something similar to my glass coins, consider wax seals on paper or thin cuts of cork that you’ve drawn elemental symbols on! × altar cloth! × lighter or matches - optional but certainly makes the candles easier to light ;) Remember, especially for closeted/broke/college witches, less is often more! This altar setup has helped me focus much better, as opposed to setting up every candle, stone, and symbol I have each time I want to do a ritual. This is just mine, but I recommend a similar setup! -- source link
