williamjiraiya: Perspectives / Artist Unknown In my opinion, nobody should ever be objectified whether they’re male or female. We are all human beings and have so much more within each one of us than this modern society has pressured us to believe. We should already be beyond gender and sexism, beyond sexuality and homophobia, beyond race and racism. Don’t allow anyone to put you into a box, and don’t allow yourself to compartmentalize others in your own mind either. Acceptance is a two way street, and accepting that we are all human beings on the same journey, regardless of race, gender, or sexual preference, is the first step in ending prejudice against things we have no control over. There are people in the world who are benefiting from our quarrels, they want us to turn on each other, they want us to be divided into our little groups, using our basic ‘us versus them’ mentality against all of us as a whole. If we are too busy fighting amongst ourselves we won’t have the time or the energy to stand up for the basic human rights so many people around the world are living without. If we all stood together, and let go of our prejudices, we would be an unstoppable force. We could focus all that energy and reverse all that hate, and we could use that to tackle real issues like; poverty, destruction of the environment, economic disparity, war, and so on. Both genders are equally beautiful. All races are equally capable. These are truths, you cannot defy or deny them. We are all human beings, and we are all capable of change. I for one am trying each day to be a better person than I was, and I am constantly trying to educate myself, and better my perspective so that I can be of some use to the people around me and share my thoughts in hopes of reaching a peaceful tomorrow. The change doesn’t have to take millennia, it can happen right now, inside each of us. Spread the word. This is just, Wow. Spreading the word. Wake up people. -- source link
