kickstarter: The Queer Japan Project, a multimedia documentary from director Graham Kolbeins and co-writer Anne Ishii, will be a series of portraits of artists, activists, community leaders, and others in Japan’s queer community, celebrating queer expression in Japan “in many of its dazzling, prismatic varieties.” Along with a feature-length documentary, The Queer Japan Project will include online videos, gallery exhibitions, and a book of photography with extended interviews. They’ve already taken a number of the photos, and collected with interviews with a number of individuals, including gay manga artist Gengoroh Tagame, drag queen and Renaissance woman Vivienne Sato, controversial manko artist Rokudenashiko, and many more. Help Kolbeins and Ishii expand the project here. Thanks to @kickstarter for being so supportive throughout this campaign!30 HOURS LEFT!
