An unarmed Reid with his hands up, in compliance with the officer’s orders, shot 9 times by to officers. Know his story. Uplift his name. #staywoke #farfromover Alright so if any of you want to watch the video before blogging in ignorance… You’ll notice that Jerame Reid was not as innocent as the above tweets would have you believe. Now, before we get started I am not defending this cop in anyway. The cop should not have lost his cool. He should not have shot him that many times. However, I would like to make the following points: 1. Reid was not completely unarmed. He had a gun in his glove compartment. 2. The cop was calm until the gun was shown. 3. The caucasian officer on the left was not the one who was screaming at Reid. He fired one shot. 4. The african-american officer on the right is the one who was screaming. He fired multiple shots. 5. The person who’s hands are up in the above second picture is not Reid. Reid is sitting on the right side of the car. You cannot tell if his hands are up. 6. Reid’s hands, however, were up when he was shot. Right after he got out of his vehicle. To approach the officer. After being told to “not f**king move”. Do what you will with the above information.
