japonismefashion: Evening GownJeanne Lanvin1937The inspiration for this sequin design probably came from one of the many traditional costumes that Jeanne Lanvin had collected. At the 1937 Exposition Universelle, Jeanne Lanvin supervised the section covering couture, furs, perfumery, and men’s fashion. She showed this impressive gown of black taffeta; its wide kimono sleeves and the long sequined band running from the nape of the neck to the very end of the train gave it a regal air.Images and text taken from: Lanvin - Elisabeth Barille -- source link
