withsoyplease:cosmictisane:withsoyplease:Yes, but it is worth considering that the source of the meat people consume is animal agriculture, an industry which operates within capitalism (cue emissions, CEO’s with political sway and exorbitant paychecks, etc). Putting your money somewhere else (other than animal agriculture, that is) is ONE of many ways that people can combat climate change. Vegans do not suggest that veganism alone will save the planet. Just because you can’t do everything doesn’t mean you can’t do something. Veganism is one of the things you can do.The problem with posts likes these is that people are only posting them for attention and to provoke others without actually being helpful at all. Would not eating meat change the world? Not entirely. Would it alter things and improve at least something yeah. Are you going to sit here and say “ well just feeding one homeless person does nothing to actually change our housing costs and government policies so I’m just not going to bother” isn’t a good attitude to have . Instead of trying to make enemies of people who want to make a difference do something proactive. ^^ -- source link
