homosexyality: delilahmidnight: dirtysweetheart: petty-davis: fieldbears: The same thing happened to 9/11 firefighters and EMTs. YEP. Seeing this every day. Bosses putting signs around the facility saying “thank you, heroes” and “all that you do is amazing” and, okay, appreciation is good. But how much of this is really just about trying to give us those warm fuzzies so we don’t quit?  heroes help others out of selflessness without expecting some sort of reward. we are out here doing our JOBS, and should be protected and compensated accordingly for being forced to put our lives and our family’s lives at risk. we don’t want to be cheered for, we just want to be treated like we’re not disposable. -- source link
