swaps55: Shepard’s corona roars into being, lighting him up like a torch. Tendrils of dark energy snap and snarl, eager for an outlet. It’s mesmerizing.The rock in his hands is such a waste of the power Shepard is capable of. He’s raw, uncontained energy when he lets loose. No precision. No control. Everything Kaidan has always been afraid of. He’d burn you up if you got too close.There are worse things to go down in flames for.The rock zips out into the bay, a bright sapphire that eventually melts into the dark.Tremendous thank you to @xla-hainex, who I commissioned to create one of my favorite scenes in Sonata, in which Sam Shepard and Kaidan do some impromptu biotic rock skipping by English Bay. There are so many things I love about this, but in particular is how well it even captures the details of their jackets:“Was going to go for a walk,” Shepard says. “If you’re up for it.”“Uh, sure.” He eyes Shepard’s hip. “Are you up for it?”“Yeah. Feels good today.”He’s lying, has to be, but the smirk that creeps across his face makes it impossible for Kaidan to argue.“C’mon,” Shepard says. “I’ll even find a jacket so you can have yours back.”Kaidan doesn’t take his back.
