The Kamaitachi is said to ride dust devils which are whirlwinds where dust is shot straight up and with its claws it cuts people leaving them with a large and deep but painless cut. It is said that the fur of the Kamaitachi is like the spikes if a hedgehog’s and the sound it makes is that of a dog and when it cuts people it tends to go for the legs as they are easier for it to get to.
