mach-d: The new prison system - none of this wimpy reform rubbish - a convict is in prison to be punished. He will be kept in chains , probably for years. Not just for preventing escape , but to humiliate and degrade him . The chains are simple , but effective. Convict has been fitted with the chains he will wear for the full time of his sentence. A length of heavy chain, locked on with a heavy iron ring - clamped shut and welded. These are not intended to come off easily - you need the help of the prison blacksmith (like that will happen). Convict is of course barefoot as he will be for the length of his sentence - convicts do not deserve luxuries like shoes. This prisoner is nothing but a piece of chained meat to the guards - not a person , not even a man anymore, just a convict. He will probably be worked hard - in the outside world, pulling weeds , cleaning trash . Chained hands and feet, with a heavy iron collar coffling him to his fellow convicts.
