ohhhmyloki:mikaelamariannee:lokihiddleston: › request by @asgardian-angel When he changed his position to give Sylvie some time to think it instantly reminded me about the fact that he’s a prince. I’m not really sure why? Maybe the way he puts his hands behind his back and looks down, it seems very proper and not something many would do. During the series I sometimes kinda forgot that he actually is a prince and was raised to be one and this scene reminded me about it. This moment really struck me, too. It says a lot about where his head is at. He notices the shift in Sylvie’s behavior, gently investigates, immediately accepts her answer, and then politely gives her space to process. He’s attuned to her. He’s present with her. He’s not running his mouth. He’s not trying to control the situation. He doesn’t react to her temper. He’s understanding. He lets her lead, because this moment isn’t about him. It’s about the goal she’s been pursuing her whole damned life, and he just wants to help her achieve it.This brief but important pause before the biggest reveal of the seasom shows us how completely Loki has changed. We’ve been seeing it in other situations, too: how he proudly tells the other Lokis she needs him. When he is horrified by the behaviors of his variants. When he’s vulnerable with Sylvie in the blanket scene. When he says, “You go, I go.”But its easy to say the right words. And Loki’s actions up until now *could* be contributed to his original desire to gain control over the TVA. (Altho we, the audience, don’t really beleive that any more by this point). However, this moment on the doorstep is different, because Loki’s not trying to convince anyone of anything. He’s not saying, “You can trust me, I’m here for you. I’ve changed.” He’s not making any grand gestures. He’s not trying to prove himself. But for me, in this moment, he does prove himself, in a much subtler way. Because he doesn’t push. He doesn’t say any more than is necessary. He doesn’t even turn away from her after she silences him. He stands there facing her, in a position of passive readiness, silently saying, I’m here. Whenever you’re ready. Whatever you need. Because he just wants her to be OK.It’s fucking beautiful. *cue ugly tears* -- source link
