Wait.” His voice sounded so broken when he said “no” to her. he was horrified at the very idea, horrified that she would think thatso next time he literally RISKS HIS LIFE to get her to stop, putting his body between her and her target, letting her keep that sword at his neck (you can actually see a cut there in the TVA scene), and dropping his own sword so she can’t possibly mistake his intentionsand it still doesn’t work because she’s too blinded by her grief and pain and rage to listen, just like he was not that long agoit hurts my heart, okay heyyyy so you know we were talking about spinal trauma? it doesn’t last real long but he gets thrown into that bookshelf back-first in the third gif, and it does kinda seem like it hurts him more than you might expect! he’s still on his knees when he throws the chair at Sylvie, too, maybe because it’s taking him a bit longer to get up than it should. Having watched assembled his fighting style is so different here too. Its more like Sylvie’s, he pulls his arm too far back, he’s leaving himself vulnerable. He’s definitely in pain on the floor, the chair is a diversion because before before he’s all defense and hasn’t really tried to hit her. It was this exact moment:He prefers to take the injuries than to hurt her. I love the details like that in the series, because it brings so much on the beauty of this character. And Tom still proved that he knows his character and that he is perfect. -- source link
