henny-de-gallo:another-porn-blog-to-jerkoff-2:Wow even MAD Magazine….. they been waiting for this moment for decades and all it took was a white terrorist to unleash more terrorism on the countryActually, they haven’t been waiting for decades. They were always really socially conscious and dealt with topics like this and other societal problemsFrom 1971: the Four Horsemen of the Metropolis (drugs, graft, pollution, and slums)1973: Judicial corruption:1968: Vietnam:1969: police brutality against protesters:1972: PTSD/drug addiction among Vietnam vets:1973, self-explanatory: And these are just BACK COVERS.The articles and comics were just as serious. MAD wasn’t beholden to advertisers for a long time, so they could print whatever the hell they wanted, including attacks on the tobacco and alcohol industry, politics on both sides of the aisle, the collapsing state of American morality and faith in society, racial injustice, the rise of the drug crisis of the 70s and 80s, pollution. You name it, MAD didn’t. They haven’t done something like this for a long time (part of why I stopped reading it) so that’s why it looks revolutionary. But actually this wouldn’t be put of place in an issue from 1969. -- source link
