audreyrouget: My Brilliant Career (Gillian Armstrong, 1979) 4/5 “I’m not marrying anyone. I’m going to have a career.” What a comforting thing it is to find a kindred spirit even if only in art or fiction and how amazing it is to hear someone who has lived a hundred years ago or so to say the same things that you’ve been thinking and feeling. Well, like someone in the film says, “Do you imagine you’re the only female on earth to have such notions?” Of course not and yet, a lot of times it feels like it does and so we owe a lot to these films that make us feel less alone. -- source link
