siryouarebeingmocked: jack-of-alll-trains:siryouarebeingmocked: abqryan:I am seriously curious if they honestly believe this is somehow okay. I just want to know how fast this would backfire. How soon they’d play victim for getting the same treatment they want Trump supporters to get. There are, in fact, laws about distribution of people’s private data. There’s no expectation of privacy just by looking at a map, or seeing a house from outside, or even having an address. But Google Maps doesn’t say “this is where John Smith lives”.Also, aren’t the Facebook lists opt-in? People voluntarily decide to join some group with a public membership list? It’s not just “keeping a list” of people you think support Trump. Also, this is “stochastic terrorism”, isn’t it? After seeing how dedicated 4chan was to learning the whereabouts of Shia Lebeouf’s flag was by cross-referencing flight paths of planes in the background, I’m not sure they’d enjoy seeing them put effort into a doxxing document. Ooof. If the Chans turn their gimlet eye on these folks, I almost feel sorry for them. -- source link
