HA whelp Why is everyone acting like this person did a bad thing by asking why its not cultural appropriation? Like ya’ll spend so much time calling out white people for it that we actually start paying attention and then when we try its suddenly “so embarrassing” like yeah it wasn’t the case with this but how were they supposed to know what?? And now we all know some really interesting things about the shoot too??? like this person did not do a bad thing by asking if this photoshoot was appropriative???? It’s bad because the question starts out with the assumption that it already is appropriation, asking for proof that it’s not instead of trying to find out why it would be. Exactly. Their and your first thought was to assume it was offensive and wrong. Guilty until proven innocent. The assumption that they were wrong with no evidence to support that suggested that you just wanted to be angry. And it costs $0 dollars to mind your own damn business. And it’s some fucking clothes, people: wear what cloth you feel like that day, allow others to do the same, and grow the fuck up. Instead of showing off your knowledge of this season’s fashionable-buzzwords-for-toddlers, why not try helping all those you see around you every day in direct, tangible, graspable ways, and stop acting as though you have any grounds whatsoever for telling everyone else what they can and cannot wear, say, think, believe and like, you ridiculously entitled children. -- source link
