I’M FLASH! Thursday, July 11, 8:30 PM (91 min.) Mercurial director Toshiaki Toyoda’s newest film, I’M FLASH!, finds a fringe religious sect called “Life is Beautiful” is rapidly gaining popularity all over Japan, much to the benefit of its rock-star leader, Rui Yoshino. Played by the impossibly cool Tatsuya Fujiwara, Rui preaches his creed by day, and enjoys the wealth, prestige, and women afforded to him by his position. This entire enchanted life begins to rapidly unravel, however, following a tragic car accident, and Rui is left to reconsider his position in this world. Toyoda himself will be returning to Japan Cuts to introduce the film, which will be screened in gorgeous 35mm, as well as participate in a post-screening Q&A. Co-presented with the New York Asian Film Festival -- source link
