Its so weird that necessities have skyrocketed but fucking luxories have not That’s because the price of technology - the cost of the materials and resources it takes to produce it, the processes required to assemble it, etc. - fall drastically year upon year. That, and luxuries are things that people can do without, so if you overcharge for them, people just won’t buy them. Corporations can afford to pass the savings on to the consumer with luxuries. But the necessities? You can charge through the nose for those no matter how little they cost to produce and nobody will ever be able to turn away from you. -- source link
