jlewdaby:SHADBASE | TWITTER | PATREON Amber’s Revenge is done! One of the main focuses of what I wanted to improve upon in this piece was definitely the figure render of the horses member. Originally, I made it quite heavy-weight, thick, and veined out to emphasize it was more visceral and belonging to a Grimm, however I changed my mind and wanted to focus more on the elongation of it instead. I also wanted to apply the new way I rendered veins with this as well in that they would be more seamless when toward the viewer and blurred out than really defined. I also attempted to try to make the sheath have some sort of transition rather than a hard pink-to-black separation. Lastly, I always had trouble with making the markings or patterns on the member due to value issues, so instead I made “landmark selections” and copy/pasted those selections from the original render so that way I can freely paint over it and change its hues, opacity, contrasts, all on its own layer so that way I can have my freedom of what it should look like! I didn’t want to make it too noticeable and just subtle, but I’m mostly happy I found a method for it now whenever I render more horses c: anyway, that’s all I’d like to note on this, hope you guys like the outcome!Love this guy -- source link
