Iceland spar & Wormwood - Telluric Tarot card reading:・゚☆✧(Rider-Waite equivalent: Eight of Cups) Iceland spar, a brilliant form of calcite, splits the light in two at sharply different angles. This strong polarization of light aided the Vikings in navigating through fog and the long twilight of the North, seeking and capturing the exact position of the sun.Wormwood is now best known as a main ingredient of Absinthe, the intoxicating drink of artists, writers and bohemian thinkers. While absinthe is associated with pleasure and excess, wormwood itself has an acrid flavour. Stripped of the Green Fairy’s indulgent sweetness and alcohol, wormwood is a bitter herbal tonic. This card heralds a sense of dissatisfaction, yearning or questioning. Perhaps a source of enjoyment and distraction has run dry or an old way of life has been outgrown. Something has lost its shine. What remains is a growing need for self-searching, a yearning for a greater purpose or meaning. There is more beyond this moment and the hazy horizon. Changes and endings may be bittersweet yet they also bring clarity and opportunities. The time has come to move forward and seek out missing pieces, new paths and a more fulfilled self.(I’m in the process of writing the companion book to the Telluric Tarot and began making little moodboards to help me crystallize (ooo see what I did there) the giant scary piles of concepts in my head. I figured I’d share some of them alongwith some of the interpretations, like mini-readings. So far I’ve been mostly dumping the finished drawings here without much explanation, so I thought a change of pace could be nice) -- source link
