atracaelum: mori-fashionista: t0mnooksprostate: mori-fashionista: Hello! Can anybody help me with my succulent troubles?? My Crassula plant was doing so well the past couple of months, I’m quite the inexperienced plant keeper so I was very happy when it grew so rapidly and looked so healthy (1st picture) But after a weekend away I’ve come back and it has lost its colour and the leaves seem to be turning dry and crispy with brown patches (2nd picture) I don’t know if I’ve been overwatering it or underwatering it and I need some advice. If anybody could help I’d be very appreciative!! You might be over watering it! How often do you water your plant? Are you letting the soil out between waterings? How much light have you been giving it? Ummm usually every 3-4 days. It’s in a really bright spot on the windowsill so the soil can get dry quite quickly. I thought if I was overwatering the leaves would be mushy? Not crispy? Like it there is an audible crackling when I press slightly on the leaves. It has a space beneath the pot for water drainage. But maybe it’s not enough drainage. Thank you for replying!! x The crispyness is because Crassula need more shade in summer. Since they’re getting too much sun for them to use, they’re basically getting burned and ‘shutting off’ parts of their leaves and putting their chlorophyll in storage. Moving them to a different spot might help. This should balance out its need for water as well, since these symptoms can indicate underwatering but your current regimen should be fine under normal circumstances. Wow. Ok. I’ve moved them to a shady spot. It does get quite hot and bright where it was before. Thank you so much for your help! -- source link
