It’s during hard days like these that as PEdAL ED’s Brand Director I feel I must stand up and put myself on the line to speak publicly. We are a brand made of humans, humans that got deeply hurt by Mike’s passing. Mike Hall was the representation of our ideal cyclist: strong in the legs and stronger in the mind. He was for me a true inspiration. He inspired me to develop the same jersey he was wearing on his last ride. There aren’t words to describe how this thought is deeply devastating. But Mike had a vision, a vision that has changed the rules of our sport. As PEdAL ED we tried to support his vision at our best simply because we shared that same vision and dream. A dream of a race that could cross borders and bring Mike and the Transcontinental spirit through countries and inspire people to go beyond their limits, to challenge themselves not only the others and to bring all of them toghether. It’s on this idea that we will go on. We’ll keep doing “our thing” as a brand, and as a sponsor we’ll try our best to keep Mike’s vision alive through his biggest creation: The Transcontinental Race. And this will not happen through some cheap commemorative t-shirt with Mike’s face on it. We will not do anything like that. Instead we’ll do what we know best, produce cycling apparel based on strong values which is the same reason that brought our brand and Mike together at first. Mike and Anna started a revolution that changed the sport, and this revolution will not be merchandized. This revolution will be live through the old dirty roads of Europe and all over the world. Cycling lost an icon, I’ve lost a friend. Mike, ride in peace. Luca Mathia Bertoncello Brand Director http://ift.tt/2nRD9r1 -- source link
